we are down to 82 players as im writing this…
The average stack is at 590k
I have 720k left after just loosing the biggest pot of the tournament for 880k.
I was second in chips before the hand and i would have been chipleader had my kk hold up vs aqs
I just got the blinds with a 44 utg raise and a kj button raise. – 770k
Blinds are at 12,5k/25k/2,5k – which means one orbit costs 60k already.
I raised kjs in utg plus3, button pushes 400k allin and i have to fold – 708k
right the hand after i raise jj – my internet connection was gone for about 40sec – we got the blinds – 760k
highjack moves allin for 350k – ak im bb – er kj and this time i win with the better hand – 1,14mio chips – back in the game and moved to a new table
utg plus two 78s geraist and we got the blinds – 1,19mio
68players are left – avg of 718k – 7th in chips
a10s in the bb – but we got a walk, nothing in the sb – 1,2mio
we changed the table once more and to our left we have plz be live who won the tourney last august
k5 in the bb – 102 in the sb – 1,13mio
blinds are at 15k /30k/3k now – 72k per round
Just got out with 77 vs 99 in the everest sunday mayor – I have to say it is probably the deepest online tournament i have ever played – but i didnt catch any cards in the end – 140th position
Now we have aq in the co – we raise to 71k – get a call from the button sb allin for 600k – he got ak
BUT WE SPIKE A QUEEN ON THE RIVER – SUCKOUT – but who cares if its for us, right!?!?!??!
1,85mio…..one step closer to the big one!!! I dont think it was a bad call though 500k for 1350 and we very well could have even dominated the guy
who cares now? (he probably does…) 4th in chips…54 left
we just witnessed the first limp after like 4hours – i got to see a free flop with 10 9 – but it was no good…
qj in the sb, but a raise and reraise in front of us
co raises and we have 150k in the middlee
next hand – utg plus 1 raised – we reraise on he co with jj….wow!
he calls my reraise and im very worried – flop 6 2 6 turn 4 river 3 – we check it all the way and he shows a4s – what a call preflop
well weve got 2,05mio and its time for a break – 2nd in chips 50 left and avg of 960k
we are now gonna wait for good cards or a very good steal position – just folded a3 and a5 in early pos
I just saw that we are chipsleader now!
j7 in the bb and the button moves allin with 500k – k10in the sb but an early pos raise – 1,97mio
aqs in the sb – 7players at the table – i raise – bb folds – 1,96mio
we now very quickly got down to 34 players – blinds are 20/40/4 – 92k an orbit right now
qq utg plus 1 but no action
…… 2,03mio
u gotta be kidding me – kk in the bb and a walk!!!
YES!!!!!!! first pos geht mit 700k allin ich hab jj am co und geh drüber – er 22 – ich 2,85mio
99 am button auf 130k – no resistance – k10s am co no resistance and we are at 2,96mio
aqs im sb – mid pos raist auf 110 – ich 320 – fold and we passed the 3mio chip mark
a9s am co and we got the blinds – were down to 27 and therefore 3 tables – 3,18mio
95 in the bb and a walk – nothing in the sb (but a player got eliminated – 26 left – 3,18mio
Fuck – im out – cant believe it – i raise in the co – the chipleader reraises me from the button and i think for a long time – wanted to fold already – but there was 800k in the middle and he folds 80 percent of his range there – this sucks so bad!!!
he had kk – im out in 25th – well i guess i could have layed it down, but i decided to go along with aggressiveness – which might have cost me a shot of glory this time – but its what got me to this pos as well…
I feel like shit!
2,3k$ instead of 150k first prize
i dont know when i will come so close too such a big one again…
i won (3way chop) a live tourney for 7k yesterday yesterday – but I cannot be happy about that anymore
I just want to make it short also I do remember a lot of the hands that took place in the last 2 weeks of online poker.
I was running so bad – to a point its a little bit funny if you get your money in with a set vs top pair on the flop and youre already afraid and then he hits runner-runner full house to beat you…. well, actually its not really that much fun if it happens that often as I had that coming the couple of sessions.
Coinflips really feel like 30-70 right now.
Despite my bad luck I still made a final table in the 100 rebuy on bwin. I got to the ft in 4th chip position, then got into a pot with the chipleader where I value bettet the river and he raised me allin which was really unexpected – I made the fold cause I still had enough chips to win it.
But then it was just another bad beat – qq in the sb vs 55 in the bb – he hits it and Im out in 7th place.
Last sunday I made it a 21st place in the 250k on titan where I got really unlucky once again – I know its a lot of self-pitty
– I lost a monster pot with kk vs aq – If I win it Im 2nd or 3rd in chips with 30 to go – but now I was shortstacked. I managed to come back again, but then lost a big preflop coinflip when I held ak and the other guy called me with 66 where he could have really laid the hand down… ![]()
Once more I got out before it got really interesting concerning the prize money.
It would have been so cool to make it a 3rd final table in 4months in that tourney and to win it a 2nd time in that period…. but I guess there will be a next chance soon!!!
One more thing: IM LEAVING TO VEGAS ON THURSDAY!!!!! AND IM SUPER EXCITED!!!!
I will stay from Dec 31st – Jan 14th and then comeback on Feb 8th till Feb 13th
In between I will be playing the Grand Series Of Poker (GSOP) on bwin, where I plan to be in the 1000$ sidebet for the leaderboard again – ,which means that Ill be playing every event.
http://www.gsop.info/gsop-4-home/gsop-4-info
Ill arrive at the airport 2 hours before New Year, which means I will really have to hurry to make it to the party in time!!!
Then I plan on playing a 500$ tournament in the Wynn on New Years which starts at 9pm – what a nice time!!!
I will try to play mostly tournaments (1-2 a day) between 300 and 1000$ since they have such nice structures compared to Germany.
I played a couple of them last year and I should have a big edge on the rest of the field.
I will keep you updated if my live poker success is going to hold up!!!
Bye, xcrash154
Hey,
I didnt write for a while because my laptop got stolen and I hoped i would get it back….
Well, first of all I want to write about the 1,500€ tournament in Wiesbaden which took place on December 19th + 20th.
There were 72 entrants and most of them knew how to play what you might expect for that buyin.
It was quite a while ago so I cannot remember every hand I played, but first of all I have to congratulate myself for playing it very well!!! ![]()
…also I made 1-2 mistakes I will come to later.
I got allin with the worst once where I just couldnt fold to a simple bet – I couldnt call or raise-fold anymore – so I pushed and he showed aa….
but I was running so hot hitting set after set – I think I hit like 9 out of 12 in the whole tournament and Im not exagerating – the usual set hitting rate is at 1 out of 8.
Then right before the final table bubble i raised from 3rd with jj and the bb which was Marco Liesy – Full Tilt Poker pro – pushed allin…. I thought about it for a while – I got almost 2:1 and if I loose I would have a stack which should still somehow get me to the final table.
In addition I had a read when he really pushed the chips into the middle it seemed like he wanted to seem strong and didnt want no call.
I called – he showed ak and the flop came j high – another set!!! But then I noticed 3 diamonds and he had one of them in his hand which should give him the flush on the turn and no help for me on the river – now I was shortstacked….
I managed to get to the final table. Marco Liesy finished 8th. I was able to make a big double up with kk vs jj when I just pushed more than pot-size on a 9high flop and he had to make the call.
Then I had a great hand in the battle of the blinds: sb makes it slightly more than a minraise, I call with k 10 – flop comes k 10 10 – He bets, I call, Turn goes check-check and I make it a big bet for most of my chips which he calls on the river with ak. Now I had a really good chip position.
I think it was 7 players left when I made my only mistake in the game – one I never make – \”checking in the dark\” – its stupid!!!!
One guy was allin – 2 callers and I made the call from the bb with 77 and guess what – I floped another set! It was unbelievable.
As I said I checked in the dark and then saw a flop of 7 9 10 2spades, everyone else checks, turn 6 of spades – the ugliest card in the deck – it checks around again – the river was an 8 and the second guy bets very small – the other guy calls with ak (the board) and I folded also getting like 10:1 on a call – the guy who bet the river showed qj and took the guy that was allin out.
If I bet the flop I would have had like 200k instead of 150k – on the other hand there wouldnt have been no elimination.
I think I eliminated most of the people in the whole tournament.
Well in the end we were 3 guys left and we chopped the pot by chips, also the first guy who I would put in the category \”good player\” got a little more than he deserved whereas number 3 in chips (bad player) got a little less than he deserved – I got 22k€ which was my fair share by chips and a little more than what place 2 would have paid. I wouldnt have taken the deal if the blinds wouldnt have been that high already which would have made it a lottery anyway….
Anyway, taking that deal might have been my second mistake that night, but I was pretty happy walking out of the casino with that much money.
We actually played for 900€ first prize – but none of us took that seriously anymore – everybody was laughing and talking and you could see that there was a lot of pressure released from all three of us – I got out first and the better of the two won. Congrats to him! I might meet that guy in Vegas next week.
Here you can find a short article on the tournament:

My night at the casino started out pretty badly – i played a 300€ doublechance tournament, which means that you basically have two stacks and can get the second one at anytime till the first break. The stacks were 2500 each.
I played a lot of hands right from the start, because I got a lot of good hands and because I knew that I could outplay most of them postflop.
I showed all my monsters and I did not bluff till this point when I got into a hand with Marco Liesy\’s (Full Tilt Pro) brother. It wasnt a big pot but he made a little bit of strange play. I raise 150 in 3rd with j8s – he calls from the button with 88 – our stacks were around 3000. flop comes k 10 9, I bet 2/3 of the pot and he calls. it goes check-call, check- call since I didnt hit any of my outs and he won the pot. I just really dont see what he put me on or if he just wanted to bluff me on the turn if a scarecard comes off.
I lost one big pot of around 11k with a flush draw that I check-raised vs top pair, I was at 1,3k, came back a little, before I than got in my 5k stack at 400/800 with 99 vs 1010.
That was the tournament for me – and once more the structure was to blame – obviously!!!
Then I decided to play cash game and I only brought money to play 2/4, but I took my 450 and sat down at a 5/10 table since there wasnt anything lower going on. To make it short I won a little above 1,1k which made it a quite decent night – also, now I can finally afford myself a haircut, which Im gonna get tonite; Im so excited!!! ![]()
I won around 400 in a limped pot where I flop top 2 on a board of 10s 9s 4 and a guy got crazy with his a10.
The biggest pot I won was when Liesy Jr. made a move from the big blind and put in his remaining 250 into a limped pot – first pos says something like:\” guess i have to call you here\”, I have ajs and think I have at least a flip against first pos and I can probabaly get him off 77 88 99 with around 450 more for him to pay; so I would get against Liesy needing less than 30% and I was putting myself ahead of his range. First pos held qq, Liesy not much and I got lucky and scooped the pot of 1,1k there. ![]()
Before that I lost a pot of around 600 where the bb made a move on a limped pot with 260 or something and I called in 2nd with ajs to loose to his j10.
There was one really bad playing crazy guy. He got sooo lucky, it was kinda funny since it never happened against me. ![]()
One time he called the flop with qj no pair no draw – turn q – river j and the other guy fired big on all 3 streets, went allin on the river and held kk and was so pissed that he left. ![]()
Later on he won a pot of close to 4000€ with j2s. He paid 70 preflop with that beautiful hand, four oppenents in and a flop of a 5 3.
Then it went bet 150 – call – 450 – call from the crazy guy – then the most aggressive player on the table made it 2200
– fold – next guy folded a3s – and crazy guy calls with a flush draw and a gut shot. He obviously hits his straight and wins the pot. Since the guy who lost the pot didnt get too pissed and later on said that he had he needed the 2 to come and that he had a flush draw as well – I guess he was actually far behind there….
The most interesting hand developed when it came close to the end – I cant really remember the actions on the several streets – but the board was something like 2 5 8 9 j Obviously, crazy guy was in the hand and also was the source of the action – he had position and bet like 450 on the river – the bb called and the third guy in the hand – a pretty known local – had a great read and moved his 1,1k stack into the middle – crazy guy mucked instantly and the other guy thought a long, long time before he made the call with qq – which I would have probably not made. I thought it was a great move, also it didnt work that time. The qq guy said that he had seen him make moves like that before – for me that can be the only reason for him to call of more than 600, also it was a pot of 3,6 in the end….
I am going to take a break till tomorrow since I was too late to register for the tourney tonite.
I am really thinking about sitting down at the 10/10 Omaha table sometime soon. They are all supposed to be pretty good, but everytime I watch them they all just get crazy with nothing and playing what I would say is overaggressive. We will see!
Tomorrow is a 300€ tournament where it will be one round PL Holdem and one round PL Omaha. Then I will play the main event on Friday night – a 1500€ NL freezout, which Im already looking forward to.
Bye!
The X-Mas Pokerfestival in the casino of Wiesbaden starts tonite and Im already looking forward to it since I havent played live in 3-4 weeks…

The main event looks pretty decent concerning the structure for a tourney in Germany. ( Im gonna be in Vegas in about 3 weeks!!!!!!)
Im planning on playing every event, (probably) except the one on Thursday because I have a big exam on Friday.
Well, I hope I can present some good hands to you and hopefully my first victory in a live tournament.
I just cannot believe how bad Im running live – and its just so much more frustrating if you get a bad beat in a live tournament since you dont have 5 other ones running at the same time and you had to drive/travel there just to get unlucky!!!
I have a good feeling for tonite though!!!!
If it doesnt work out I will blame the structure for sure…..just to let you know in advance ![]()
Wish me good luck!!!
